Special Prayers for medical patients

  1. Marie Low: Pray that she will enjoy good health as her condition has improved with the time period between the required blood transfusions lengthened from 3-4 to 7 weeks. She adds that the transfusion is for blood and not platelets since her platelet count has stabilised albeit at a very low reading of 4 to 6 instead of the normal 150. She is in need of the "Graseby" infusion pump which can de-load her excess iron in the blood. Her next trip to China is either in the second or third week of May.
  2. Lilian Anthony Boswell, 50: (Mrs Soo’s sister) Her sister is suffering from Lymphoma - cancer of the lymphatic system. She is married and has 1 son & 1 daughter. She is a Christian and physically active. The doctor gave her a span of two years to live. Apparently, she has accepted the situation well. Please pray for healing for her and that God will be gracious to her and to the family.

NTM officials are concerned about how the Muslim gunmen will treat their Christian captives. They were forcibly taken with 18 others from the Dos Palmas Island resort at Honda Bay, near the island of Palawan. They were working at a mission station at Puerto Princesa. With more than 3,200 missionaries in 25 countries, the 59-year-old missionary group is one of the largest in the world.

  7. China News: Chinese Police Round Up Christians in Underground Church Raid - Chinese police have raided an underground Protestant church and detained 15 followers who could face up to three years in a labor camp, a Hong Kong rights group and police said yesterday. About 30 police burst into the unregistered "home church'' on Saturday (in May) in Dongsheng city of Inner Mongolia and took away all 35 followers to a detention center, the Information Center for Human Rights and Democracy said. The next day, 20 of the followers were released after paying fines, but the others, including two church leaders remained in police custody on charges of violating China's religious laws. All religious groups in China must be registered with the government, while religious activities are closely monitored. According to the center, there are more than 40 million Protestants in China, of whom 25 million worship in the underground church rather than the officially sanctioned "patriotic'' church.
